“The way to a man’s heart is through his stomach.” ~Fanny Fern
These words ring true in the story of my life. I remember always cooking for my husband while we were dating. Was it always from scratch? Heck no! I did not think I could manage life and cooking from scratch, since I worked a full time job and was in graduate school. As time went on, I realized I needed to find some balance. For me, I found chopping and prepping my ingredients to be rather therapeutic. I couldn’t wait to get home to cook a meal!
So fast forward in time, we get married. Yay! We realize quickly that a huge chunk of our money was spent on eating out. And the meals we eat at home probably could be made better and less expensively. So I challenged myself; I challenged myself to make as much as possible from scratch. Do I use box mixes when I cook now? Sometimes, but it is super rare. But my thought is why should I when I most likely have all the ingredients in my pantry? But that’s for another day…
Fast forward again, our family has grown! Our son and his healthy eating is a new wrinkle in the challenge I placed for myself. I’m still holding strong; showing my guys complete and undying love. Keeping their bellies full and happy.
I am completely obsessed with cooking for my family. This is how I show my love…love of food, love of life, love of family.

Beautiful story!
